Cobb Digital Library replaces the old Cobb Virtual Library. In order for your child to have a more personalized experience, please help him/her log in from home.
Click on the Mackin Via image above.
You will need to choose our school from the drop down menu. To do this, begin typing "Austell Elementary" and you will see our school from the list of options.
Input your child’s information. His/her username is his/her lunch number/computer log in number and a standardized password (123).
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. O'Brien.
Lost/Damaged Book Procedures
If your child loses his/her library book, please follow these steps:
Verify that the book is lost. Check around the house, in the car, and the classroom for the missing book.
If the book cannot be found, have your child come to the Media Center to speak with Mrs. O'Brien, or you may send a note or email to the media center. We will mark the book lost in our system.
A lost book notice will be sent home with your child with the cost to replace the book.
Please make payment with a check made out to Austell Elementary or cash in the exact amount. Have your child bring the payment to the Media Center along with their notice.
We will print a receipt for your child and clear the fine from his/her account.
If your child has an accident with their library book which makes it no longer usable, please follow these steps:
Have your child bring the damaged book to the Media Center. He/she will be asked to explain the circumstances so that we may discuss how to avoid book accidents in the future.
We will remove the book from our system and issue a damaged book notice with the cost to replace the book.
Please make payment in the form of a check made out to Austell Elementary or cash in the exact amount. Have your child bring payment and the notice to the Media Center.
We will print a receipt and remove the fine from your child’s account.
If you have any questions, please contact the Media Center staff.
Please DO NOT purchase a replacement book yourself. Replacement costs do not always match the original cost of the lost/damaged book because of book formats (we purchase library bound copies).
